Fashion education should not ask students to choose between imagination and rigor. The industry needs people who can move fluently from concept to cost, from culture to operations, and from an image to its impact.
The classroom is a place to make complexity usable. Students should understand the systems around an object—the supply chain, customer, narrative, and consequences—without losing the creative conviction that made the object necessary.
A future-facing education builds agency. It gives emerging leaders the vocabulary and tools to redesign not only products, but the conditions under which fashion is made.
